We are extremely excited to announce the birth of Addalyn Ann and Aiden Christopher at 8:07 and 8:09 pm on Feb. 2, 2009. Addie weighed 4 lbs and 11 oz, and she was 18 inches long. Aiden weighed a stout :) 2 lbs 14 oz, and he was 14 inches long. He is pretty small, but looks strong and has big hands and feet. Both babies are resting comfortably in the NICU. Mommy is also getting her rest and doing great.
Addie is breathing completely on her own--which is great. Aiden only needs a little help, but actually less than they had expected. Fortunately, since Addie was breathing without intervention, I got to hold her before they whisked her away to the NICU. Proudest moment of my life :) We haven't got to hold Aiden yet, but we get to touch him and talk to him whenever we like.
We have already got to hear both babies cry, something I feel we will become very accustomed to over the next few years. Addie definitely has her mommy's lungs! Grandmas and Grandpas seem so proud. Addie even opened her eyes when Papaw Cash touched her. My dad and I both hope that doesn't mean there was some kind of weird Purdue connection going on there!
Anyway, I will try to post some pictures when I get a chance. Thanks for all your prayers, calls, text messages, and visits!
Fantastic news! Oh, the power of prayer!
