We can't explain how it finally feels to have both babies home at last! Leaving St. V's NICU was bittersweet. The staff there was fabulous to us and really made the adjustment of having babies in the NICU easy. One nurse in particular was Amber and I hope she doesn't mind me writing this. Brian and I were very fortunate to have Amber as the primary nurse for the babies. Thank you Amber! And thanks for putting up with me talking your ear off :)
Aiden did a wonderful job riding in the car home, and we love the new car seat we had to buy....easier to adjust straps. :) Addie really hasn't shown that she knows another baby is in the house...BUT you can tell Aiden definitely hears her and is aware of her being near him. I would have to describe the first night with the babies comical. I'm laughing right now thinking about how crazy we must have looked running around the house at ALL hours either feeding, changing diapers, rocking babies, cleaning bottles, making bottles, and trying to at least close 1 eye. Brian and I would pass each other holding babies and just smile. I kinda felt like we would take care of a baby and then tag the other person to feed the other baby. When I mentioned Aiden realizing Addie was in the room, he would imitate her. If she cried he did! It was crazy!! And really Aiden was pretty calm and relaxed in the hospital. I would never guess that he would even move in his sleep....but he does. :) I'm going to try and take some pictures of the two of them together today. Enjoy the pics above!
Emily, you are all so beautiful and wonderful and so positive...you are a blessing to those around you and those of us reading your blog.
